59. Boehner and McConnell have problems that have nothing to do with dealing with the Democrats.

Their major problem is within their own ranks. They both have to contend with the wacky Tea Party bunch. Boehner definitely can't contain them or make them agree to work with the Democrats. I don't envy the guy's job. McConnell is up for reelection and he keeps veering right to avoid being primaried by the T.P. He also has to contend with kooks like Paul and nasty ones like Cruz.
