Are you actually calling an artist's transformation of a statue of Lenin into Darth Vader "political repression?" And chiding the western press for appreciating the artist's humor? Wouldn't a "light-hearted" tone be entirely appropriate for reporting such a light-hearted re-purposing of a statue to a WiFi transmitter for the people? Why shouldn't Ukraine want to "erase the symbols of soviet history?" Would you want to raise a memorial praising the Holodomor, the result of soviet policy that resulted in the forced starvation of millions in Ukraine during the Soviet era?
