10. Also pre-war Nazis in LA in the 1930s and beyond as recounted in Steven Ross' book,

"Nazis in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America." I just saw Ross speak on a panel at the LA Book Festival last weekend broadcast on CSpan. It's hard to imagine Nazis and associates in CA, but they were.

I'd heard a little about this last year when his book came out but not the whole story. The American Nazi Bund rallies in the 1930s in NYC, and also group and youth camps on Long Island, in PA, WI and other states I'd read about, but not in the west!

In the last few years I've read a couple significant books on the Paperclip Nazis and it dawned on me one day that a college friend of a friend was absolutely the child of a Paperclip transplant who worked post war as a 'language interpreter' at Los Alamos, NM. I'd heard his father, a chemical co. exec. in NJ passed, found the obit and the pieces fit. Gives me the creeps just to mention it.
