judging from their steadfast support for their dear leader, perhaps suicide is the only way they can deal with the realization that they've been had... if they figure it out that is. They can't live with the fact that they followed a charlatan into an abyss from which there is no escape and they can't live with trying to find a way out so they kill themselves.
