filling jobs. But it is much more serious now. I know for a fact the McDonald's I go to for coffee several mornings a week lost 8 employees the week the $300 supplement was voted in. The thing is minimum wage here in Ohio is $8.80 and most all of those jobs are only part time. If you can get $300 a week plus unemployment you would be stupid to work. Even if you have a 40 hour a week job you only get $352 a week minus taxes and SS. This will anger people but I think giving people an extra $300 over what unemployment pays is a big mistake. My niece worked for a man that owns about 20 McDonald's franchises she told me how hard it was to hire people even before the pandemic. First of all less than half of the people can pass a drug test. She said she would interview people and tell them to start work the next week and only about half of them would actually show up for work. I think the money should have been used to help people that maybe can no longer get unemployment or supplement the unemployment in states where it is very low. But not just a flat $300 extra. The minimum wage is $8.80 here and I know employers that are offering $12 a hour that can't find workers. All the fast food stores around here except McDonald's have their dinning areas closed not because of the pandemic because they cant find workers.
There are some people that have been working those jobs all along for less money that don't believe in taking handouts that
are very bitter about this.
There is still a Hardees?
