500 years ago, men like Thomas More would have had them burned at the stake as heretics, usually after their bodies were broken by torture to get them to confess more than was actually true and usually involving some sort of demon in the flesh.

They're still heretics if you're coming from the traditionally Christian POV. I'm just surprised more leaders haven't been using Christian media to call them out.
