I now live in North Georgia where I moved in 1989. I lived on Miami Beach, Miami and all areas of South Florida. I only remember one serious flooding incident. I lived in Miami Springs across the canal from Hialeah. One year there was a period of rain for two weeks constantly. The canal flooded over the banks into people's yards and into the streets. Some people had to use rowboats to navigate the streets.

But the worst flooding I can remember was here in North Georgia in 2009. Everything was flooded. I tried to get home from work and could not go onto my street because it was flooded. I had to spend the night in a motel which was almost around the corner from my house. All the creeks in the area had flowed over their banks.
