Benghazi was a covert CIA operation under the direction of Gen. Petraeus and everyone there, including the men killed, knew it. Petraeus had dozens of operatives on the ground in Benghazi before, during, and after the attack. That is why CIA was in charge of the talking points. Every GOP member of the Intel Committee knew it then and every GOP member of congress knew it by October 2012. They also knew that because it WAS a covert operation that details would NOT be forthcoming in any immediate way, and that would give them plenty of time to create their own narrative that would excite their base and raise negative feelings towards the WH.

For the GOP narrative to even be plausible would Mr. Gowdy explain to the American people how he has come to believe that Clinton overwhelmed Petraeus and took over his operation in Benghazi.

Perhaps the simple truth is that Mr. Gowdy is an obsessive partisan, not a truth seeker.
