(55,981 posts)but save your disagreements for private discussions, why do you so actively disparage those that might be critical of some of the President's policies? Why don't you simply ignore them? By disparaging the left you are in fact giving the Right-Wing what they want.
Most of the things I disagree with the President are issues that the Right-Wing agrees with him. How is my saying that I don't like the Patriot Act helping the RightWing?
And I think your fear of having a discussion with someone that might turn out to be a "bad person" is a shame. I think it is educational to have discussions with anyone that will have an honest discussion. If someone is obnoxious I can simply ignore them. The interesting thing is that I have more trouble with those that think their idolization of the President gives them a self-righteous right to be rude. They will not discuss many important issues for fear of not agreeing with the President.
