Brito said an officer administered one shot of pepper spray on the 15-year-old girl not multiple shots, as purported in social media and by the girl's attorney as she continued to resist and kick officers while they tried to put her into a police cruiser.

Brito said his officers acted correctly. They have to make split-second decisions every day, and using pepper spray was determined to be the best possible action at that moment, he said.
"We wanted to get her in the vehicle and move from the scene," Brito said. "The scene was growing large, a lot of people were around. We didn't want to have an incident where we had a civil disturbance there. We thought it was prudent, No. 1, to remove her from the scene at that point."

Stupid handling by cops, but she should be detained and sent to medical facility for evaluation

Really? If this was your daughter? She was handcuffed and pepper sprayed for being black.

"There was no gratuitous use of force here." Okay, you must have seen a different video.

The problem is that instead of taking her to a medical facility, the took her to the PD and detained
