Currently, any registered voter in MI can vote "absentee", no reason needed. But, you have to 1) request an application (available online), 2) fill it in, 3) mail it or take it to the local city clerk or equivalent. Then, when the ballot arrives, fill it in, mail or deliver to the clerk.

The only thing the Secy of State is bypassing is step 1. You don't have to ask for an application, it'll be sent automatically. That doesn't get you a ballot, you still have to fill out and deliver the application.

Also, it doesn't bypass registration. You still have to register to vote, if you haven't voted in a while.

The Replicant Party is making a big deal out of nothing.
