Then fabricate a smear story about AOC and broadcast the propaganda endlessly to damage someone they despise.

Typical Fascist modus operandi,... fabricate a jumbled up new "reality" - more favorable to yourself and your agendas,.. but un-necessarily and inaccurately trashes your political opponent with an aggressive, hurtful, and injurious smear campaign.
