7. Just about everyone in the US who had British ancestors here before 1776 is related

A lot of the British settlers who originally came to the colonies were already cousins.

Even though we grew up in different states, my wife and I discovered we were 9th cousins or so, with a common ancestor in Salem, MA, around the time of the witch trials (so before 1776).

We're also both related to King Edward III (as is almost everyone who had European ancestors here in the 1700's).

Almost everyone with ancestors in Eurasia is related to Charlemagne, Genghis Khan and/or the Prophet Muhammed.
