In reply to the discussion: Help getting rid of beer smell in car. [View all]Laffy Kat
(16,377 posts)17. I use vinegar.
When my aunt died (Arkansas) I had to bring her car back with me cross-country to Denver to sell and it smelled terrible. She was a hoarder, so it was a mixture of that awful hoarder-house smell mixed in with her White Linen perfume. Horrible. I drove with the windows open as much as possible but that did almost nothing. As soon as I got it home I filled several saucers up with vinegar and sat those on the floor mats in the car and just let it evaporate. After that I did the usual carpet and upholstery shampoo. It ended up smelling good enough to sell, although I swear I could still smell it, other couldn't.

I'm 75 years old. I wish my parents were around to be a problem. Still, the car stinks.

When I was a kid I always found the smell of puke over powered the smell of beer

Crack a dozen eggs and toss the contents into the car. Leave all day in the hot sun.

Coffee grounds. Hang a sock full of coffee grounds in your car. They absorb odors.
