5. Thanks for the tip, I actually got a washcloth and soaked it in cold water.

As the blood hadn't dried yet I was able to first soak up as much as I could, then continually drenched it with the wet cloth, then blotting up the bloody water, repeatedly rinsing the cloth out in cold water and repeating the process. It took a while, but pretty much got it all out. Will wash all the evidence of the crime today.
