You're correct, they're almost all in the Mint family, technically ...
The Lamiaceae or Labiatae are a family of flowering plants commonly known as the mint or deadnettle or sage family. Many of the plants are aromatic in all parts and include widely used culinary herbs, such as basil, mint, rosemary, sage, savory, marjoram, oregano, hyssop, thyme, lavender, and perilla.

In the winter I put shelves in front of windows and grow basil, parsley, rosemary and thyme in pots.

Cardamom is actually a seed ... so it's a spice, but not technically a(n) herb :)
