Effing macys lost my address, dinged me, and now I have to argue with all 3 companies

many years ago, I was making a large purchase at Macy's (where I rarely shopped) and they talked me into the open a new credit card and save 20% today thing. I don't usually do this but I thought what the heck. It was all done electronically in about 60 seconds.

What they failed to tell me was I would be getting a Macy's american express card (which I did not need) AND a macy's credit card. I mean, who applies for TWO cards at the same time?

So both of them showed up in the mail. Alright, my mistake. I set up an account online and I waited for my bill to come for the purchases I had just made. Nothing. Turns out I was supposed to open a SEPARATE online account for the Amex card. And where did the bill go? To THAT account. So I was already late before I even got a bill. I called and they took off the fees. I couldn't close the account because of the promotion. But I finally did.

Maybe a year or two later, I was at Macy's for something and I tried to use the Macy's card. It wouldn't go through. They said because I had not made a purchase in more than a year, they suspended the account. But I still had to close it myself. Which I did and haven't looked back!
