I'm in Santa Fe, NM. Our libraries all closed last March, and are still not reopened. We've been able to check out and return books, which works for me, but I really miss being able to browse, chat with the librarians, read magazines. I was picking up books today and asked the employee if they had any idea when they'd reopen, and all he could tell me was that it's being discussed.

And according to another librarian, they are actually checking out at least as many books as before the pandemic. I do know that I've often made purchase suggestions, and they've gone through as readily as in the past. Same with inter library loan.

I love libraries. I'm honestly glad that the change in my financial situation which meant I could no longer afford to buy books when I moved here which made me go back to the library was one of the best things that could have happened to me.
