(24,282 posts)41. My Grandmother's Sauerbraten and Dumplings.
With brown flour gravy. The Dumplings were the size of baseballs, the beef was a rump roast. Always made for big family gatherings. Cheap way to feed lots of people and everyone loved it.
Fortunately, she taught my mom how to make it and my mom taught my wife. We make it with Spaetzel nowadays instead of Dumplings.
