They debate pronunciation, missing or extra syllables, whether the question is plural or singular. I don't think the host is actually deciding correctness in some cases.

Finally, a green (or red) light comes on and he can pronounce the verdict. Along with extra details, like a first and middle name of the person.

It seems a little stiff, like, why are you keeping the contestant hanging?
