I built one out of 1/8 inch brazing rods for my garage and get over 30 channels. Didn't know that the only worse metal I could have chosen was stainless steel. It works. Built the one for my house from aluminum rods. It works, too, for even more distant stations (about 60 miles). Made one once out of ordinary 14 gauge copper house wiring (insulation removed) and taped it to the inside of a window, just to see if it would work. It did. Picked up stations 25 miles away.
