I was born in Baltimore and lived in Middle River until I was four years old. Then we moved to Alexandria, lived there four years and then my dad's job moved us to the San Francisco Bay Area. That was in 1961. Although I think moving to California was the best thing that ever happened to me, I still get a little homesick for Maryland and visited relatives there for many years after the California move.

I often wonder what my life would have been like had we never left Maryland. Your story let me live a little of my later life vicariously through your words. You are a very good writer and I had an easy time visualizing all of the locations in your story with your brief but somehow complete descriptions.

I wish I was a good enough writer to describe my life in such a a way.
