2. My friend and I used to hike in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

during summer vacations from high school. One time we spent a night in an Appalachian Mountain Club hut, where hikers passing through could stay, and helped the college guys who worked there prepare dinner and breakfast for the guests.
The night we were there the guys, my friend and I served baked beans, cole slaw, hot dogs, and salad with onions. Then, after lights out, we stayed up very late playing cards in a lantern-lit corner of the dining room and tried not to giggle too loudly as the chorus of flatulence began in stereo from the men's and women's bunk rooms on either side...
