I hear you about Andersons, still something everybody should do once just to say they did it. Solvang is a cool spot, one of my branches was there. Used to crack me up when I'd pull into the parking lot and there'd be an Aston Martin, or Jaguar, or Mercedes sitting there covered in dirt 'cause the horse ranch owner just didn't care.
When I first transferred down there I had a place in Oceano with a view of the Pismo Dunes. Ended up buying a place out near Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande. Really loved it there, but you're kinda land locked. Three hours drive to LA or SF so you either get into the outdoor life or twiddle your thumbs. Probably be more my speed now, but I was in my late twenties then and not quite ready to settle down.
