In reply to the discussion: If you had it to do all over again... [View all]I got a PhD. Being an academic is a very solitary life, and I didn't take well to it. I never liked it. When I was a little girl I wanted to be a lawyer, but I think I was unduly swayed by negative views of lawyers and law school by friends in college. I think I could have been a really good lawyer, and since that degree is so flexible in terms of what one can do with it, who knows what I might have ended up doing. I probably would have ended up doing anti-death penalty work.
