and I finally clued in why you stay on the NW side 
when I first moved to Tucson it was central - a friend had moved down here to go to pharmacy school, and I was ditching a stalker ex-boyfriend. Lived on her couch for a few months until I got my own place near Catalina High. (oh god the hangover mornings + highschool marching band practice at 7 AM)
My father's parents lived in mid-town too, though I didn't want to live too close to them
