I never thought about it until I was standing on the edge of a platform when a no-stop went full speed through the Subway station. Those trains displace a lot of air and an object moving at high speed with a large volume is going to displace enough air to pull you towards it as it passes. That was a 8-car light-rail subway train...imagine how much more a 100-car heavy-gauge freight train moves.
