I pass people in the hallway at work a couple thousand times a day so people just get bored with the usual "Hey, Joe" and say "Hey, Joe, where you goin', etc." It's almost a compulsion for people who know the song. I think the psychological phenomenon is called "The Zaigarnik Effect".
