39. Here's a dream I had the other night

I was walking on a lonely, narrow road as night was quickly approaching. Up ahead, I could see a car in the road, and another one trying to pass it on the right side. "What is that one car doing?" I thought. "There's hardly any room at all to pass the other car on the right side." Then as I approached the other car, I realized it was stopped in the middle of the road. And then to my horror, I saw that it was covered in leaves and wasn't moving. On top of that, it did not have a roof.

Not wanting to investigate what was under the leaves, I nervously continued on my way. Then, as I was perhaps 50 feet past the car with no roof, I heard an engine start up. I turned around, and saw that the leaf-filled car was starting to move. Slowly, it made a U-turn and began to head my way.

The road was very lonely and very narrow, and now I found myself on a bridge, with the strange car coming up slowly behind me. As it caught up with me, I could see, much to my relief, that there were three old women in the front seats-- but no one seemed to be driving. And then I saw three more women in the back seat, but they were quite hideous in appearance. And then-- riding behind them were three more women, even more hideous-looking than the ones on the back seat. And the one in the middle, who was holding a steering wheel, was so devoid of flesh that she was almost a skeleton.

Suddenly the skeletal woman turned to me and spoke:

"We've been waiting for you..."
