29. I felt that way for a while about thirty years ago and decided to do more different things

I don't know what would work for you but working some volunteer activity and political work into my life has helped me ever since: go wash dishes at the soup kitchen; help fight a toxic waste dump in the town down the road; make phone calls for a candidate; write letters to try to free a political prisoner somewhere; teach an illiterate how to read; register voters, whatever ...

No matter how many folk tells theyself contrary, truth is, ain't none of us here permanent no how; we all just passin through and everbody gonna draw that losin card some day or other, like it or not, so ain't really no reason not to keep tryin and to keep on pickin oneself after gettin knocked down: in fact, there ain't no other way down the trail
