There is such a thing as being TOO technical. But she's young enough to get it right for next Olympiad. (I think the Russian ice dancing couple had the same problem -- I'm VERY glad that they came in third).

Even without Mother Russia looking over the judges' shoulders, I think the Japanese skater should have beaten her if she hadn't fallen.
