26. I am so proud of my girls!

Our older daughter has a PhD in astrophysics, and after having worked in the field for ten years, decided that the only way to live is to do what she REALLY wants, and that is to paint. So she is now establishing herself as a fine painter. The market is tough, and with today's economy....well, it has not been easy. Still, she is making a name for herself. She has a terrific boyfriend, and they have bought a home together. They are turning into urban farmers, with all sorts of crops coming along. She is also the proud aunt to her sister's three children. She has dedicated herself to helping them grow up and has helped them have experiences that they would not otherwise be getting.

Our younger daughter also makes us proud and happy! She is married to a terrific young man who is a detective with the local law enforcement agency. She is working full time as a 911 operator and dispatcher; she is also an instructor for her agency. They have three children who are gorgeous, smart and loads of fun.

Both our girls are smart and compassionate people. But they have taken very different paths in their lives. It has been a considerable treat watching them grow up and become the wonderful young women they are. We feel very lucky!

Thanks for this terrific post, my dear steve2470! It's fun reading about other people's children, including yours, and having a chance to talk about our own.
