More than half of the cashiers I pay with money (as opposed to plastic) give me change by placing paper money and receipt in my hand and then trying to place the coins on top of that.
THIS IS A PRACTICE STEMMING FROM CEREBRAL CORRUPTION! One out of three times the coins (some or all) fall on the floor. Handing coins first followed by the paper is a VASTLY superior method.
Before the advent of digital cash registers, this was common. For example, a $10 bill is tendered for a $8.32 transaction. The cashier would take 3 pennies to make $8.35, then a nickle to make $8.40, a dime to make $8.50 and finally 2 quarters which would total $9. The cashier then handed you the coins and added a paper dollar to make the total $10, the amount tendered.
Is anyone else annoyed by this careless coin handling?
