I've had two dogs with seizures. I adopt the older pups, ended up with two eight-year-old cockers in a row who had seizures. After trying to control it with diet, when my little Samantha had three grand mal seizures in one day, I finally gave in and gave her seizure meds prescribed by the vet. She never had a bad reaction, but after four years on this particular med, her liver failed. When I found out Sheena was also prone to seizures, I took her to a vet who uses alternative medicine as well as the traditional. He came up with a lot more ideas than an anti convulsant. I also went online and read everything I could find on canine epilepsy. I never wanted to be blindsided again. If your dog isn't any better, I'd get a second opinion. Best of luck with this. I know how it is.
