In reply to the discussion: What was DU's most ridiculous flamewar? [View all]A HERETIC I AM
(24,366 posts)25. i don't recall that.
The person I am speaking of was perpetually homeless, or so she would have us all beleive.
Apparently several DU'ers reached out to her in an attempt to help, only to be met with vitriol, for some strange reason. It seems to me she had some serious mental health issues but never seemed to avail herself of any kind of free assistance. I tried to be kind to her when I interacted with her, but her participation in the thread(s) I am speaking of just pushed me over the edge. It was clear she wasn't playing with a full deck, so to speak.
Anyway.....I'm sorry she had/has difficulties, but I have little sympathy for people who prefer to complain about their lot in life instead of accepting or seeking readily available assistance.

Wasn't it the same poster who said he would not celebrate the holidays in any way?

I think I started that one by calling her a no-talent hack....right after she died.

I think I remember that. The outdoor cats were eating all the songbirds and people drew deep lines..
