I have also listed this in Pet Forum.
Recently I have met an extraordinary woman who works very hard (two jobs to pay off massive student loan and a bankruptcy), like many of us, to keep afloat. What struck me about her is her humility and obvious discomfort to have to ask for help on a diabetes pet Group but people are not sharing her post and would rather "give her their expert advice" instead of helping. I have been there having to swallow my pride to ask. Many of us are there and are afraid to ask. Because people have helped me, I donated to her situation. Perhaps I understand it all too well, having a diabetic cat also.
Insulin costs are not cheap. (She has managed to patch together supplies for low or no cost including insulin from various places including Craig's List.) And teeth can become an issue and in turn poison the animal or contribute to heart problems. This makes it much harder to help a cat get into remission since these underlying conditions play with the ability to regulate blood glucose numbers. Right now she is at the juncture of having to do something to hopefully deter the secondary issues since it has gotten so bad. Like many of us, this kitty means the world to her. Family.
I am posting this in case you have any outlets to get the word out to help her. She has barely raised any money and if your charge card has room for $10 or so that you would not notice added then that would be really kind.
I am hopeful that this post is not a problem. She is a very honest and sweet person who has no means at all to get this done and that is not good for the health of this kit she has had for many years.
