In reply to the discussion: Your top 10 movies of all time [View all]LynneSin
(95,337 posts)3. In no particular order my favorite 10
- Gold Rush - (One of 2 from Charlie Chaplin but only the original 1920's version)
- City Lights - The other Charlie Chaplin
- Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back
- Velvet Goldmine - Awesome fictionalized movement of the Glam Rock era in Britian. Steamiest scene ever with Ewan MacGregor's Iggy Pop/Lou Reed persona jamming on the guitar while Jonathan Rhys-Davies simulates a bj.
- Cinema Paradiso - Only the original cut. The director's cut spoiled the magic of the movie
- Trainspotting - cannot wait for the sequel.
- The Last Emperor - Beautiful moving cinematography about the Last Emperor of China.
- The Mission - also amazing cinematographic movie about how religion can both make lives better and really f**k them over.
- The Lobster - a newcomer that really just both moved me and made me laugh like crazy
- Muriel's Wedding - Awesome Aussie movie that shows us that until we learn to love ourselves no one else will ever love us.

I kind of like movies that deal with a main character confronted with life in a drama or bio drama

The future wasn't like 1984, it was like Brazil. I'm glad to see it on anyone's list.

My Top 10, in no particular order. A lot of representation from the Brothers Coen on the list.
