(21,131 posts)7. I (along with another kid) worked at a pool hall when I was 16...
We would stay open as late as we wanted, locking the doors at 2:00 AM and run it like an underaged speak-easy. We would buy a bottle or two, sell drinks under the table. Lots of pot, harder drugs. Those of us without real homes would just sleep there all night. We also had burgers, fries, etc, so with the proceeds of the liquor, we could also eat pretty well.
The mid/late '70s were kinda fun.

I worked there six summers, eventually got the job driving the train that went through the jungle

I was 13, hired as a "nanny" for 3 brats at a resort club in northern lower MI for the summer.
