Revisiting "2001", getting oddysied again [View all]

I'm enjoying watching “2001: A Space Odyssey” on TCM. First time I saw it, we’d been partying and indulging all day and decided to go to the after-midnight showing in Hollywood. We got there just prior to the movie starting, and the only seats left were in the middle of the front row. After that final sequence they had to just about peel us out of the upholstery. Anyway, many years later and blessedly substance-free, I can watch the film and know that my initial confusion was enhanced but not caused by any substances. So there’s that.
