This is off topic for DU MA, but this is the forum that knows me, so I'm asking for a pass. I will post music [View all]

On Tuesday, the last person who was kin to me the day I was born, passed away.

My Uncle Bruce was my hero when I was a child.

He was a mentor to me as a young man, and a shining role model for me as an older man.

My aspiration was to be as loving and supportive a brother, husband, uncle and father as he was.

He was the youngest of 4 on my mom's side, just barely 13 years older than me.

I have referred to him here as "My Cool Uncle" or my "Coal Miner uncle" while talking about outlaw country, southern rock or early metal - The reason being I stole records from him when I was 13 or 14

Instead of scaring me, or narcing me out to his sister - He gave me a gift certificate to the Goody's Record store.

The records I stole were, Yes, "Fragile"
