I got to play with Brubeck about 25 years ago. It was the 50th anniversary of our orchestra and we had so many great musicians, Perlman was one, and I can hardly remember but we got to play with Dave B. and his sons who came in first to rehearse us and get us ready then Dave came and we rehearsed with him and played a concert. It was one of my most astounding experiences and I have played with a lot of really cool people over the years. I always wished that Paul Desmond had still be living. What a sound he got from that sax.
