7. When I first came to the US and settled in Tacoma at 14 years old

Mt. Rainier was my reference point. I was able to put myself in the right direction anywhere I was with in sight of the mountain. When I was 19 I wound up singing on a national singing tour and we spent some time in Kansas and there was no reference point...it really blew me away that an area could be that flat!
