I am pissed. It seems the State of Florida, in 2017, [View all]
issued me a driver's license that will not be valid identification for flying commercial after October 1, 2020. It doesn't have a star in the upper right corner, nor does it say "Not for Federal Identification." I find myself wondering why this should be my problem. Check your license. This will probably only be a problem for people born before 1964 because of different implementation dates that ultimately never went into effect. From what I have read, the license I was issued violates Federal law. I was allowed to renew my license online in 2017 despite not ever having to produce the documents required by the stupid circa 2005 Real ID law.
I have always said nothing in Florida ever gets done right the first time, so I am not surprised, just angry.
