5. The diff between impeachment and recall

Recall or Impeachment of a government official. An impeachment requires a high crime from the politician and then its voted on by the legislature.

A recall is where citizens go through a process that has been codified by the legislature to remove an elected politician before their term ends.

Carlos Alverez (recalled with 88% of the vote). A recall is done by the voters. CA Gov Grey Davis was also recalled. I think an attempt was made to recall Schwarznegger also.

For all intents and purposes, you may call a recall a "revote" - because it's the voters who get "recalled" to see if they would still elect him. An impeachment is a hearing by a legislative body to determine if an act has been committed by politician that makes them ineligible to continue to hold office. A recall is a secondary election that can be initiated via petition.

I don't believe this "MoveOn" petition has any weight in KS except to get those bad feelings off our chest(s) about our guv!
