if they organize and want to. It does not say everyone would or should. I think that the money the Koch brothers are talking about is the wages and benefits they would rip away from state workers, your firefighters, teachers, nurses, state department of social services workers if they block this measure. I implore you to vote yes on proposal 2 and give workers the right to organize if they want to and can. Without it the powers to be will soon make it illegal to organize and that will not be good for Michigan. in disclosure I am a retired teacher, and I can tell you we have already given up wages and retirement benefits. This will not effect your pocketbook by any tax you would have to pay.
This proposal is biased by necessity. I believe that all of America needs more labor organization because giving businesses the total control without organized labor never works out for the worker. Business other than a rare few do not give away their profits easily. Because I believe that way of course I will vote yes. Others will have an opinion biased in the other direction. Just remember this simply says that it will remain legal in Michigan to organize and collectively bargain. Business that do not have a union now wont have one after this is added to the constitution. It simply allows workers to organize if they want to.
