The corrosive influence of Tejas is the only real explanation for why District 2 is Red. As a Texan now living in NM, I believe that turning District 2 Blue will be a lot easier than turning Texas, but will require the same methodology: convincing good people that their transplanted neighbors, in spite of their bloviating and over-confidence, are haughty, insecure nihilists that think politics is a team sport instead of being the world you have to live in. My Texas roots help me when I argue against believing and supporting these Texas transplants. But, the progress is painfully slow.

Still, I appreciate your optimism and will cling to this hope for as long as possible as motivation to continue the fight.
