5. Low turnout again in SW Ohio - reflective of disinterest, I guess.

Four SW Ohio counties had turnout of 10-15%, reminiscent of the low turnout in last fall's municipal elections.

Boehner won handily, of course, taking 69% of the Republican vote in his district.

My conservative Republican incumbent state rep. was beaten by a TeaParty candidate, a former state rep. who's against Common Core, in a highly red district.

Dale Mallory, of the Mallory political clan, was beaten by former Cincinnati Council member Cecil Thomas. This district is normally represented by a Dem. African-American; However, there is conjecture that Republican African-American Charlie Winburn, term-limited on Cincinnati council, may enter against Thomas, which would make quite a race. Winburn is good at raising money, while Thomas typically raises very little in his races.

Which brings us back to the subject of turn-out: it will be very important in November.
