2. Why not err on the side of service to students?

Because it's not juicy gossip AND because those students are, the blind eyes of the ignorant, not getting a fair education. Teachers shouldn't inspire children to think on their own and to be open and unhypocritical. Oh no, they should be indoctrinated and spoon fed what to think and regurgitate, like good little drones.
