(27,803 posts)I don't know why the Wellstone situation sticks in my craw so much, but it does. And Washington does not handle it well. In a city like Seattle, there should be a ballot dropoff box in almost every neighborhood. They add a few for big elections, but having four scattered around the city is laughable.
The ballot is a PITA, too. It isn't the least bit clear that it's anonymous, since you have to sign the envelope you put it in. Then that goes in a larger envelope, you need to rip off a receipt strip, then you need to mail it. The first time they did it, regular postage wasn't enough, either (they did accept ballots with low postage, but who was in charge of THAT?)
The low turnout and the huge number of spoiled ballots really concerns me, but I do get that everyone can't make it to the polls.
