in this specific case I would rather have Herb Kohl run for governer. He is leaving the Senate, and from what I know, although he has never been a force for progressives, behind the scenes he helps out quite a bit. If elected Governor, Kohl could also name his extremely short term replacement, possibly Tammy Baldwin.
